It is fully configurable from the ACR4 or SMART handset, and enables communication on any of the 13 allocated pins on the J1962 vehicle connector.
Technical specification for 30214600 ISO 9141 cable
The cable construction will is similar to previous J1962 type cables, but with a small ABS housing part way along the cable to accommodate the necessary electronic printed circuit board.
The cable supports communication between vehicle and the ACR4 handset in accordance with the published J1962 ISO9141 interface specification, on any of the 13 available pins of the J1962 connector.
Pins 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14 and 15 can be configured as either ‘K’ or ‘L’ lines
pins 4/5 and pin 16 provide ground connection and +12V respectively, including supplying power to the handset.
The electronic configuration of the interface pcb to route the communication data to or from the correct pin(s), will be performed by the ACR4 handset; five control lines from the handset are available in combination, to support the configuration mechanism and bi-directional data flow to and from the vehicle.
